Hello!
It's time to announce our Winners and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #5! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs! I can tell you that we had a difficult time choosing our favorites! You all did a wonderful job with the BUTTERFLIES prompt! Thank you so much!!
Congratulations to our May "Conventional" Winner!
Bonnie Klass (Stamping With Klass) #17 and #52
Bonnie entered twice and both sets of Twofers were amazing, but I was particularly taken with this set. Here, Bonnie created a stunning triple butterfly shaker design for her birthday card with subtle linen impressing and a turquoise border. For her get well design, Bonnie masked a lovely banner of butterflies flying over a pretty pink flower bouquet.
Congratulations to our May "Unconventional" Winner!
Marianne made both conventional and unconventional card designs with her butterfly. (Her sister is visiting and also played in the challenge!) Marianne's first card is beautifully CAS. I love the coloring on the leaves and the multicolored card base! Her second design features a homemade patterned paper in a grid design. You have to look closely to see all the impeccably colored little butterflies in the pattern! Very clever and beautiful!
Well done, Bonnie and Marianne! Here is the Winner's Badge
for both of you to proudly display on your blog!

Here are your fabulous Honorable Mentions!
Marybeth used soft colors and achieved wonderful movement with both her designs. The encouraging sentiment goes so well with her row-upon-row of pretty monochrome butterflies in her first design. By flipping the elements for her second card, Marybeth placed the butterflies where they made the perfect punctuation for her bold and fun center-stage sentiment.
Jenny made CAS mixed media tags for both her cards and she packed a lot of wonderful techniques and products into these little works of art. Her first design is a study in tone-on-tone with the marbled background. By double heat-embossing her butterfly die-cut with silver embossing, Jenny created a thick, smooth finish that looks like a piece of jewelry. For her second design, Jenny used a black card base and black butterfly which made her gorgeous watercolored rainbow background pop.
Helen used a very large delicate butterfly for both her beautiful designs. For her first card, Helen created a white translucent heat-embossed butterfly in vellum and off-set it on her card front against a delicate patterned background. For her second card, Helen used a tall card base and simply stamped the butterfly in ombre shades of blue to create a stunning and unique background. The stitching added even more interest to her design.
Bobby's two designs are both crisp, clean, and simple, yet they look very different from one another. The vibrant ombré colouring of the monarchs is gorgeous and the imagery of them flying over the card is fabulous with the sending prayers sentiment. For her second design, Bobby paired her dainty frantage-embossed butterfly successfully with the bold bright blue corner stencil, the torn edge, and the gold-embossed sentiment.
Aileen's coloring and masking skills are evident in both these designs. Her adorable little ballerina looks like she was made for those butterfly wings. The sentiment, grounding, and sequins complete the balanced design. For her second card, Aileen created a visual feeling of movement as the vivid butterflies flutter up the card front.
Congrats to the winners, fabulous designs, Cathy x
