Twofer Card Challenge #1 Winners!

Hello!

It's time to announce our Winner and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #1! We were BLOWN AWAY by the 132 entries that were submitted for our inaugural challenge! We love how you have embraced the challenge concept so enthusiastically!

Congratulations to Verna for being the winner!
Verna really stretched her design and creative skills when she used her bird stamp in an unexpected way by turning the bird's tail feathers into flowers for her thinking of you card design! The whole bird was used as a focal layer over her Color Burst circle for her birthday card. The black matting and fun use of the black and white gingham ribbon tie both designs together.

Well done, Verna! Here is the winner's badge to proudly display on your blog!

And now here are the fabulous Honorable Mentions!

Maria #30 (Rieslingmama)
Maria did a beautiful job of intertwining and disguising her feather as leaf in her flowery and colorful background design for her hello card. Her second design is a beautiful CAS thank you card with lots of white space which makes the organic feather watercoloring and black splatters really pop!

Bozena #53 (ArtCardBox)
Bozena used her feather(s) as a large focal point over her beautiful watercoloured background for her birthday card with a sentiment to enjoy the special moments of life. Her second design could be encouragement or graduation with the sentiment, "let your dreams take flight." She handcut a border around the feather to reveal a beautiful gold-embossed patterned paper which gives the design more interest and impact.

Dora #74 (7 Cardiologists)
Dora used the same color palette for both her cards, which is fine because she followed the challenge brief of making two distinctly different designs. Her birthday card showcases the feathers as a dreamcatcher focal point. For her sympathy card with ribbons and a layered sentiment, the dark silhouette bird becomes the focal point and the feathers become a beautiful DSP background.

Mac has created a scrumptious mixed media thank you card in wonderful earth and sky colors, using lots of techniques and eye-catching layers. It's a card to enlarge on your screen in order to see all the incredible detail work. Her second card sending love is a clean gold-embossed design with lots of molten texture.

Lucy also used her feather stamp in an unexpected and spectacular way on her colorful and gorgeous floral thank you card. Her anniversary card is a pretty soft CAS design. Lucy draws us in with these two designs: you  have to look closely at the flower to confirm that, yes, she used the same feather; and you have to look closely at the anniversary feather to see the gorgeous gold elements.

Congratulations to all of you talented ladies!
Here is the Honorable Mention badge for you to display with pride!

There were lots of other entries who met the challenge criteria, so we all had a difficult time narrowing down your sensational Twofer cards and choosing who to showcase! I wish each of you could get an Honorable Mention! We look forward to seeing all of your interesting, creative, and inspirational Twofer Card Challenge designs next month!

The challenge will run from February 10, 2018 to February 24, 2018. Please note the opening and closing times have been changed to 12:00 AM (midnight) (PST).

Thank you again!! Mwah!

And, yes, your feathers may be attached to birds
or dreamcatchers or ...?

  • Follow the monthly prompt and follow this blog.

The goal is to stretch your creativity as well as your stamps and dies by making two distinctly different designs using the same prompt stamp or die!

In order to stretch your design skills, try a different style with your second card! In order to stretch your schtuff, try using the prompt stamp or die in an unexpected way on your second card!

Please read the very specific information about design layout and using stamp-and-die pairings, negative/positive dies, other stamp sets, etc. under the tab "FAQ" (frequently asked questions) above. The use of NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) is encouraged, but not a requirement.
