Twofer Card Challenge #17 ~ Winners!

Hello!

It's time to announce our Winners and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #17! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs! You all did a wonderful job with the BEES prompt and you rocked the concept of two different designs for two different occasions! Once again, it was such fun seeing the ways you stretched your design skills and used the same stamp, stencil, or die in creative ways on both your design layouts!

Here are the winners!

Congratulations to our June "Conventional" Winner!
With 45 entries this month, it was very difficult to pick the winner, but Natalie's cards are really outstanding! First of all, her stylized bees are so cute and so fun! For her first design, Natalie used a square card base on which she placed her bees holding sparkly wings to form the most delightful wreath! For her second design, Natalie made a rectangle interactive pull-tab card. She adorned the corner and nearly two sides of the panel with colorful flower die cuts and she used one of the large bees to sit on the slider tab. As the tab is pulled, the bee slides to the right to reveal the word "hi!" Again, very cute and very fun!
Well done, Natalie!

I will be in touch with details about being our future Guest Designer!

Congratulations to our fabulous June Honorable Mentions!

Jane's sweet Happy Birthday card features a charming scene of hives and busy bees. The way she placed the elements achieves a balanced composition and the large bees with the smaller hives creates a great sense of depth. It's as though the bees have a long way to go to get home! For her second card, Jane created a landscape panel covered with a golden honeycomb stenciled background with a fun sentiment. Then she added a horizontal panel with a border of the same beautiful bees.

For Jenny's get well card, she filled her entire panel with a garden of gorgeous watercolored blooms to provide wonderful pollination for her swarm of busy bees. For her birthday card, Jenny changed her design layout to a center aperture opening featuring a very curious and very hungry bear with his paw caught in the hive. Great little scene and coloring, adorable image, and fun additional placement of a bee next to her sentiment!

Marcia's two designs are also distinctly different. Her Christmas card is a sensational landscaped envelope layout with a pure white flap and plaid body. The black touches, the die-cut sentiment which appears to be embossed, and the solitary bee art all finish the design brilliantly. Who would have thought to put a bee on a Christmas card, but it's stunning! For her second square design, Marcia placed her bees in a circle so that one minute your eyes see a lovely white flower with a sentiment in the center of the bloom, and the next minute your eyes see a circle of bees surrounding a pretty layered circle sentiment!

Marina, too, gave us incredible creativity with her two designs. Her kraft card with selective coloring is impeccably executed with an image of a hedgie holding up two pretty blooms to help the bee find the pollen. So sweet! For her second card, Marina took clever creativity to a whole new level by creating a dress for her lovely lady made from a fabric patterned all over with the same bee! The corner cutout and flowers balance her square design layout.

It's all about honeycombs on Bobby's two great designs. The corner of her first well-balanced CAS card looks like it is literally dripping honey! She added a fun and playful sentiment and a big fat bee with shimmery wings flying across to drop another load of pollen in the corner. For her second design layout, Bobby created a large main arched panel filled with golden honeycomb. This time her big fat bee is flying in with a very funny apology for missing someone's birthday!
