Twofer Card Challenge #3 Winners!

Hello!

It's time to announce our Winner and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #3 Blossoms! Thank you once again for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs!

I'm still figuring out this challenge right along with you and tweaking it where necessary. In personal emails and comments you have left, I know my personal DT creations for the challenge have mistakenly led some of you to believe that your second design for Twofer HAD to be unconventional.

Stretching your stamps and dies in unexpected ways is encouraged, but it is not a rule. In order to emphasize that you are free to use your stamps and dies (based on the prompt) in either conventional or unconventional ways, I have decided that a TWOfer Challenge needs TWO winners! YAY!!

So from now on:
  1. There will be a winner who used the prompt in a conventional way for both cards; AND
  2. There will be a winner who used the prompt in an unconventional way for one or both cards.
I hope this change will reassure those of you who have felt like this challenge was too hard or too out-of-the box for you and I hope you'll play along in future challenges!!

The "conventional" winner for March is:

#59 Linda Walmsley of Life in the Craft Lane!
Linda created two designs using a beautiful Tim Holtz roses die. Her card on the left is elegant in white over black with a lovely flowing sentiment. Her splatters of gold and silver heighten the rich design. Linda's second card uses the same die and the unique design element of two sentiments on the card front. For this design, the roses are an inlaid masterpiece in wonderful pastel colors!

The "unconventional" winner for March is:

#18 Mac Mable of The Sweetest of Peas
It's hard to believe Mac's two designs were made using the same poppy stamp from Penny Black! This is a rare case of words failing me as a picture is worth a thousand words! Please click on the link to go to Mac's blog for the fascinating details!

Congratulations Linda and Mac! You will both be invited to be Guest Designers for the May challenge! Here is the winner's badge to proudly display on your blog!

Here are the fabulous Honorable Mentions in numeric order:

#9 Jenny Martin of My Paper Epiphany
Here Jenny shows us how two different designs can be created even when a full-size stamp is used. She created amazing depth with her design on the left, using beautiful colors and the layered Batik resist technique. Stamping a solo image, Jenny did an outstanding job coloring and spritzing to make the daisies really pop crisply against the white of her birthday card!

#20 Shelly of Simply Sweet Greetings
Even though it can be difficult to achieve, here Shelly shows us how two different CAS (clean and simple) looks can be created using the same stamp. Shelly's yellow rose with dark shadowing and her pink rose with white highlights create amazing depth and dimension. Stamping a masked and uncolored cluster outline of roses is a fantastic design idea that makes the pink rose pop.

#35 Sonja of Oldpunca
Here Sonja went conventional with one of her springtime designs and unconventional with the other. Her sweet traditional tulips look so fresh in pink against the white scalloped circle and kraft-colored card and her "tulip" Easter eggs look so inviting nestled in the grass under that gorgeous watercolored sky.

#55 TaeEun of Rainbow in November
TaeEun is a magician with watercoloring and, like Jenny, she shows us how two distinct designs can be created using a very large image. Her offset rainbow daisy is white-embossed, fussy cut, and popped up on the card base. Her paneled square design is gold-embossed and gold-embellished and allows us to see the blue daisy dead-center in all its glory. (If you haven't visited TaeEun's blog to see that "HI" sentiment up close, you need to do that!)

#66 Susan of Cardmaker's Garret
Here Susan has managed to make the stunning Penny Black bouquet stamp look completely different in her two pretty designs. She lets the image fill the card with springtime breezes with her light watercolors and fun floral sequins in the card on the left. With her second design she uses the framed arch to draw in the eye and put the spotlight on a small area of the image, painting the flowers the deep rich colors of summer.

Congratulations to all you talented ladies!
Please take the Honorable Mention badge to proudly display on your blog!
We look forward to seeing more of your creative and awesome
Twofer Card Challenge designs next month!
The April challenge will run from April 10, 2018 to April 24, 2018

Thank you!! Mwah!

Guest Designer

This month we are delighted to present the winner of our January challenge as our first Guest Designer. Please give a warm welcome to Verna Angerhofer of VA's Creative Clutter
Here is Verna's creative take on the challenge!
Do you see how Verna has used the same flower blossom stamp on both her different designs? She has used the blossom stamp to decorate the Easter eggs and make the grass! Very inventive and unexpected! Thank you, Verna!

Design Team

We hope you will be inspired by the example creations from your Design Team! You can find detailed information about their designs on their individual blogs and we hope you can visit.
Darnell
Verna and I used our flower stamps in unexpected ways, which was fun, but that is NOT a rule for this challenge! Please note below that all the rest of the Design Team made traditional floral cards to inspire you and show you all you need to do is use your flower stamp or die to make two flower card designs!!
