Hello!
It's time to announce our Winners and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #6! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs!
You all did a wonderful job with the TREES prompt! It turns out that trees were more popular for creating unconventional uses that our prior prompts have been. We had 54 entries: 28 of them featured trees in a conventional way for both designs; and 26 of them featured featured trees in unconventional ways for one or both designs! It was a lot of fun seeing the ways you stretched your stamp or die in both categories!
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations to our June "Conventional" Winner!
In both of Cheryl's lovely designs she has used her tree stamp as a tree. She stretched the stamp, however, on her beautiful Christmas card by using just the top half of the tree, which made it appear as if she had used an entirely different set of stamps! The execution of both designs is flawless.
Congratulations to our June "Unconventional" Winner!
For her conventional get well design, Brenda featured a stately tree as the star of the card with beautiful blending for the prairie and sky. Then for her cute birthday fishes card, Brenda used the same tree in an unconventional way by stamping just the tippy-tops to cleverly create sea plants for the fish bowl!
Well done, Cheryl and Brenda! Here is the Winner's Badge
for both of you to proudly display on your blog!
Here are your fabulous Honorable Mentions!
Julia (Create With Me) #13
Julie's birthday card on the left features a willow tree in conventional format with the delightful additions of a birdhouse and swing, backed by polka-dotted sky and grass and framed with scallops. She then turned the willows of the tree upside down and used it unconventionally to create a field of heather in a square frame for her sympathy card!
Barb (Barb's Studio Creations) #22
Barb's amazing CAS designs really bring focus to her beautiful bare tree stamp. For her sweet friend card, Barb masked an oval and blended an ombre sunset of vibrant orange to soft peach colors which draws the eye to the single leafy tree. Barb's Christmas card once again showcases her wonderful blending skills creating a gorgeous winter skyline as a backdrop for her forest of bare trees and snowy hills. An adorable bird adds whimsy to complete the scene!
Elizabeth (Paper Sweetness) #30
Elizabeth's Christmas card is a wonderful combination of lime, red, and gingham frames for her shaker pine trees which are filled with glittery goodness. Elizabeth then cleverly turned her pine tree die on its side to create vibrant rainbow-colored arrows pointing at her uplifting message of encouragement!
Nancy (Scrapper at HeART) #38
Nancy's thank you card on the right is a striking CAS design with her apple tree trio bearing bright and colorful foliage in little stitched squares. The background embossing and unique ribbon and label sentiment add texture and dimension without distracting from her main focus. For her cute birthday card, Nancy went more than the extra mile with her design: The tree tops, clouds, and balloon were all created using her apple tree stamp!
Robyn (Waterlily Cards By Robyn) #45
Robyn created a beautiful seaside landscape for her thinking-of-you card. Her solitary tree overlooking the vast ocean is evocative of her message and the image is framed beautifully. For her Christmas card, Robyn created a lineup of her tree to represent each of the four seasons. To give them definition, Robyn framed each season using a postage stamp die which really showcases the tiny colorful tree art!
Congratulations to all you talented ladies!
Here is the Honorable Mention badge for you to display with pride!
