Twofer Card Challenge #18 ~ Winners

Hello!

It's time to announce our Winner and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #18! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs! You all did a wonderful job with the GARDEN prompt and you rocked the concept of two different designs for two different occasions!

Once again, it was such fun seeing the ways you stretched your design skills and used the same stamp, stencil, or die in creative ways on both your design layouts!

Nora (A Creative Touch) #22

When you visit Nora's post and click to enlarge the photos, you would swear she went out to her raspberry bush garden and plucked some berries to place on her cards! Your mouth will start watering! Nora's two designs are distinctly different and equally breathtaking with an eye-catching angled stripe background and gorgeous hugs panel on her first design and a pretty stenciled and scallop-framed raspberry birthday bouquet on her second design!

Sharon (Seaview Scrapping) #5

Sharon's two distinctly different designs are both bright and humorous! Those little veggie faces are colored beautifully and they will make you grin from ear-to-ear! Her backgrounds are sensational and the wonky angles fit the whimsy of the veggie characters perfectly.

TK (Time 4 Kards) #15

TK's two distinctly different designs light up the room with her spectacular coloring! The stitched framing is perfect on her beautiful yellow and orange flower garden image and her sympathy card design with its gentle swoop and flowers stamped off the edge draws the eye to both the bloom and the sentiment.

Brenda (Friends Crafting With Friends) #29

Brenda created two distinctly different and fun designs with her fruit garden images! On her first design, the bright fruit appears to be tumbling around the punny and perfect "sweeter friend" sentiment and the matting is eye-catching as well. For her second design, Brenda grounded the juicy fruit on the Happy Summer sentiment on her crisp and wonderfully CAS design.

Betty (Created by BJK) #46

Betty created two distinctly different and lovely designs from her flower garden! Her sympathy card design gives the feeling of serenity with the monochromatic gray hues and all-over stamping. Betty's birthday card design is warm and simple with a stitched aperture and flowing sentiment. Then, surprise! The card opens to reveal that the flower and leaves pop up!

Majda (Majdan Is Creative Restlessness) #51

Majda's two distinctly different designs are a study in 3D, coloring, shading, and texture! Her first design is cozy and rustic with wonderful earth tones and a soft green background. The bucket looks so authentic and the composition is well-balanced between the clock and the sentiment flags. For her second design, Majda created a gorgeous shaded green frame to showcase her 3D wildflowers in whimsical rainbow-washed colors.

Reminder ~ Twofer Card Challenge #18 ~ Garden

Hello there!

THANK YOU for your amazing entries so far in this month's challenge! We are enjoying your wonderful creations! There is still time to play or play again. The challenge is open until the end of day on July 24th.

This month the challenge prompt is:

Feel free to interpret the prompt however it inspires you, conventionally or unconventionally, but remember to use the same stamp, stencil, or die for the prompt on two different designs for two different occasions. Please also remember to take one photo of both cards together for the gallery.

Twofer Card Challenge #18

Hello and Welcome!

THANK YOU for your amazing entries in last month's challenge! We appreciate your enthusiasm and support and love to see how you interpret the prompt and stretch your stamps, stencils, dies, and design skills!

This month our challenge prompt is:

Feel free to interpret the prompt however it inspires you to make two different designs for two different occasions! As you can see from the lovely inspiration cards, garden can be flowers or veggies or anything you might see in a garden, whether at home, on the farm, or in a nursery.

You are welcome to make two conventional designs or a combination of one conventional and one unconventional design. Every month we will have a conventional challenge winner. We will also have an unconventional challenge winner if there are any unconventional designs.

Design Team

Before we get to the Team inspiration cards, we have an announcement. Loll is stepping down as a Designer due to her many other commitments, although happily, she has agreed to stay on the Team as Blog Administrator. Thank you for doing that, Lolly, and for inspiring our readers for a year and a half with your talent and your creativity!

As folks on design teams know, these changes are a bit like a roller coaster ride. While we are sad to see Loll leave her position as a Designer, we are delighted to announce that the very talented Cat Craig will be joining us! Welcome, Cat!

Hi! I am Cat Craig and I really do Love Paper! I live in Maryland having transplanted from California after getting married and retiring.

I was never much of a crafter until a dear friend introduced me to scrapbooking in 2006. That began my love affair with paper, textures, and color. After another friend introduced me to card making I was hooked. YES, it was the heat embossing ... magic! I began playing in one monthly card challenge hosted on Flickr and eventually started my blog Cat Luvs Paper.

I love all kinds of techniques and card styles. My favorite technique is coloring, whether it is markers, pencils, or paints. Whenever my mojo wanes, I look to a card challenge to rev it up again.

I am an avid reader of political and spy thrillers. I enjoy action movies and comedies. I am a football fan, both at the collegiate level and the NFL. Few cards are made on the weekends during football season!

I am a firm believer in the restorative power of the occasional day spent lazing in bed. Some of my favorite conversations are with my husband at three o'clock in the morning.

I am thrilled and honored to be invited to join the talented Design Team at Darnell's fabulous Twofer Card Challenge.
