Hello!
It's time to announce our Winners and Honorable Mentions for Twofer Card Challenge #14! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and your sensational card designs! You all did a wonderful job with the BALLOONS prompt and you rocked the concept of two different designs for two different occasions! Once again, it was such fun seeing the ways you stretched your design skills and used the same stamp, stencil, or die in creative ways on both your designs!
Here are the winners!
Congratulations to our March "Conventional" Winner!
For Hilary's first design on the left, she created an anniversary card for her husband using her heart balloons as a bouquet to accompany her colorful embossed vellum heart. The scalloped background has a silvery sheen and the sentiment is embossed on vellum. For her second design, Hilary melted all our hearts with the sweet pop-up shadow box she created for her granddaughter's 4th birthday! In addition to the heart-shaped balloons, Hilary added many exquisitely happy details!
Congratulations to our March "Unconventional" Winner!
Cornelia's designs really make one smile! Her conventional birthday card on the left is so sweet with her fuzzy monster holding the perfect round balloon with a 3D effect, thanks to Cornelia's expert coloring. The grounding, striped border, and splatters complete the design. For her unconventional design, Cornelia brilliantly masked and created boulders with her balloon! She colored her pink elephant to look a little under the weather and added a very concerned passer-by chicken to convey get well wishes!
Well done, Hilary and Cornelia!
Here is your Winner's Badge to proudly display on your blog!
I will be in touch with details about being our future Guest Designers!
Congratulations to our fabulous March Honorable Mentions!
Robin did an excellent job of scene-building on her Hello card with soft and fluffy stenciled clouds, a green meadow, and brightly colored hot air balloons! The placement of the balloons and the sentiment created a great sense of depth. For her unconventional design, Robin turned her beautifully colored hot air balloon into a genie's lamp! She finished the design with a vibrant patterned rug and she appeared to magically make an actual genie escape from the bottle with her use of pounced metallic paint and heat-embossed flourish!
Mac's two designs elicit both amusement and awe, respectively! Her hungover bear and sentiment are humorous and her design is well-balanced. The bear is done partying for the evening, but she still happily clings to her heart balloon! For her second design, Mac created a stunning white-on-white spring card with framed snowdrops stamped in gray and bordered by a lineup of sweet bunnies and a boy. To take her card to another level, Mac added 3D snowdrops which she cleverly created with her heart balloon! She finished the design by coloring the balloon openings and flower tops with a glossy pop of green.
Jacquie used a very large PTI balloon for her two creative designs. Her conventional thinking of you card sends the recipient a cheerful and beautifully blended balloon greeting! The fluffy soft clouds and swirly string keep the design lighthearted. For her Easter card, Jacquie turned her balloon into a gorgeous large Easter egg filled with colorful sequins and flowers! Her patterned grass and cluster of extra eggs adds more depth and interest and her bunny-eared egg adds humor!
Barb created two sensational cards in a clean and simple style with each design being distinctly different from the other. Her friend card has terrific movement with her pretty princess holding a balloon while swinging beneath a large fluffy cloud! The beautiful grass and background sky complete the full design. For her birthday card, Barb cleverly used her balloon as the dot over the letter i in her bold and polka-dotted sentiment word! The addition of the plump balloon-like bird adds another layer of cuteness and fun!
Marlena used a really cute set of Clearly Besotted animal balloons to create her two different designs. For her first design, Marlena used the adorable squirrel balloon, wonderfully colored and tied to a fun textured and dimensional sentiment! The dotty background panel and large dots keep your eyes focused on the design. For her birthday card, Marlena's squirrel balloon was joined by his plump cat and pig friends in a neon-colored party selfie set in a wonky frame! Some neon dots and a striking border complete the design.
